STACKT is an innovative cultural + commercial real estate start-up development in the heart of downtown Toronto.
The trailblazing mixed use project was opened in 2019 on previously abandoned land in the core of the city’s entertainment district. Founder Matt Rubinoff envisioned a contemporary community hub to take advantage of the unused land and be designed entirely out of shipping containers.
As part of the core launch team and Art + Community Lead, Jacquelyn built the inaugural platform and business model for inspire @ STACKT the contemporary cultural and community programming pillar of the project. This pillar transformed the 100,000 sq ft site into a local culture hub and stage for expression of public art, innovation, and creativity from Toronto and the world. The regular programming shifted almost daily to celebrate local culture, art, and community relevance and impact through its strong social enterprise commitment, allocating 20% of available space to activators, activists and community causes. inspire welcomed a line-up of dynamic and destination-worthy global artists who left their fingerprints all over this downtown gem. inspire @ STACKT featured local horticulturalists, urban agriculture, vertical gardens, and played host to a community group operated shipping container greenhouse. The consulting approach for STACKT was the scalable team and network available to big ideas, large partnership formats with festivals, and large installs. With so good city, we were able to scale and bring in epic talent for sculptural outdoor furniture, mural production, art pop-ups, sponsor integrations and partnership creation.
Under Jacquelyn’s tenure, inspire brought together cultural institutions, artists, community and partner brands to create a completely novel (a first) experience of art and community programming to Toronto’s downtown.
Programming partnerships and collaborations included with so good city, DesignTO, Collision!, MURAL festival, Timberland, OCAD, adidas, Nuit Blanche, Love Letter Projects, Goete Institute,
